Technical Writer / Project Assistant (Co-op)
The Role
We’re looking for a Technical Writer / Project Assistant Co-op Student to support our
studio in both administrative and creative tasks throughout the production cycle. This
role blends elements of production support, marketing, and business development.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in the operations of an indie game studio and
contribute to an R&D project focused on cutting-edge VR technologies such as real-time
physics simulation, gesture and voice control, AI dialogue systems, and hand-tracking.
Responsibilities
- Writing development logs, articles, and other customer-facing communications
- Supporting social media presence and creating marketing content as needed
- Assisting with the creation of funding documentation, including pitch decks and
grant applications - Supporting internal communication and organization through email outreach,
scheduling, and maintaining documentation - Recording meeting minutes and facilitating team alignment
- Conducting business and market research
- Writing development logs, articles, and other customer-facing communications
- Assisting in the organization and coordination of in-person events and meetings
- Performing general administrative and personal assistant duties
Requirements For The Role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Enrolled in a communications, business, marketing, digital media, computer
science, or related post-secondary program - Currently enrolled student at a post-secondary institution who holds a Canadian
Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or Protected Status (i.e. refugee)
Nice to Have
- A passion for game development and immersive technologies
- Some coding or game development knowledge
- Video and image editing experience (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or
similar tools) - Familiarity with social media management
- Prior experience with event coordination or community engagement

This position is part of DigiBC’s Work Placement Program, which supports post-secondary students by providing experiential learning opportunities in animation, video games, visual effects, and XR.
