We are a small team embarking on a long-term project to create cutting-edge simulated physics environments in virtual reality (VR). Our primary focus is to develop highly responsive VR interactions that will become the core design system we use to create deeply immersive games.
This system is a fully simulated physics world, with a strong focus on soft-body physics simulations. These simulations include:
- Ropes and cloths
- Soft-objects (i.e. deformable objects)
- Particle-based fluid dynamics systems
- Destructible environments
The system will also explore simulation elements not based on physics systems, such as:
- Gesture-based interactions
- Voice interaction systems
- LLM-powered NPC characters
The games we produce will be designed to use these systems to work as important game mechanics. For example, ropes can be used to fully simulate grappling hooks; fluid systems can be used to make a potion-making system; a gesture and voice system could be used to create a fully interactive spell-casting system.
The long-term goal of this project is a fully interactive, physics-based immersive VR simulation.
